LEO Satellite IoT is emerging as a core 6G non-terrestrial network component — providing ubiquitous connectivity to remote areas, oceans, and disaster zones.
But the practical question: how should hundreds or thousands of satellites be arranged to guarantee Quality of Service (QoS)? Satellites orbit the Earth, so coverage over any region changes constantly.
This study takes a QoS-driven optimization approach — setting coverage, latency, and data rate as constraints, then deriving the minimum-cost satellite constellation that satisfies them.
With Starlink, OneWeb, and Amazon Kuiper driving rapid growth, this research addresses the fundamental question: "where and how many satellites should we launch?"
